Australia
dominate India's bowling.
Leaving India with a massive 360 runs to
to score Australia batted magnificently
at the Wanderers today. India won the toss
and elected to bowl first.
The weather at lunch in Johannesburg is
lovely and the game might finish without
the interuption of rain. There is a little
bit of cloud however it would appear that
the only rain for the day could have already
passed this morning.
Australia broke their own record for the
highest ever total of 349 (against New Zealand)
for an Australian team in a One day international.
In doing this they also broke the record
for largest Australian partnership. The
only two wickets so far went first at 105
(Gilchrist) and second at 125 (Hayden).
After much speculation about whether they
would play or not due to injury, Damien
Martyn and Andy Bichel have been included
in the defending champions’ starting
line-up.
Middle-order batsman Martyn broke a finger
on his right hand during his side’s
Super Six encounter with Kenya while Bichel
has been struggling for a while with his
right shoulder.
Rahul Dravid, Indian batsman and wicketkeeper,
was also given the nod to take part in the
pinnacle match of the tournament after injuring
a finger behind the stumps in their semi-final
against Kenya in Durban on Thursday.
