The issues will include consideration of the 2010 Africa Legacy programmes.
The ministers are to be briefed on progress made in preparation for the 2010 World cup.
The agenda will also consider the Programme of Activities of the International Year of African Football 2007.
In January 2007, the AU in Ethiopia launched 2007 as the International Year of African Football, an initiative that was welcomed by the United Nations as part of its global drive of linking sport with development.
The overall goal of the International Year of African Football was to honour the important contribution of African football and the Confederation of African Football in particular, to the well being of the continent.
The initiative further seeks to promote African solidarity and commitment to integration of the continent as envisaged in the vision and mission of the AU.
The launch was also tied up to the 50th anniversary of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and was attended by CAF President Isaa Hayatou and FIFA President Sepp Blatter.
It is expected that a number of programme activities in AU Member States will be taking place with a view to share the pride that a 2010 FIFA World Cup spectacle will be held for the first time on this continent.
This is set to create new consciousness on the contribution of football, and sport in general, to support AU programmes especially in the areas of education, health, development and peace.
The AU believes that sport has the potential to foster friendship, solidarity, fair play and to promote healthy life styles.
"It brings together people in one arena for the purpose of offering satisfying experiences and enhancing the ideals embodied in the Olympic Charter by extending the frontiers of peace among the community of nations," the AU said.
