Orders for almost a million Euro 2008 tickets have been received by German football authorities in the first 26 hours of sales, officials said Wednesday.
More than 78,000 orders had been received by the German Football Federation (DFB) by midday Wednesday for a total of 850,067 tickets for the June 7-29 tournament in Austria and Switzerland.
"Well probably cross the million barrier in the next few days," DFB general secretary Wolfgang Niersbach said just five hours after tickets went on sale Tuesday morning.
However the German federation only has 14,400 tickets for public sale for Germany's three group games, against Poland on June 8, Croatia on June 12 and Austria on June 16.
Orders can be made via the DFB's internet ticket portal until midnight on February 12.
A draw will then take place with a maximum of four tickets available per person per match in the first round.
