Italy defender Gianluca Zambrotta will not miss the World cup. Zambrotta's left thigh injury from a World Cup training match was not serious, Italy doctors said on Monday, and the Juventus leftback will travel with the team to Germany.
"There are no problems for his World Cup. It's not a serious injury. We will recover him as soon as possible," Italy chief doctor Enrico Castellacci told Italian media.
Zambrotta was injured in a training match on Sunday. Italy's first match at the World Cup is against Ghana on June 12.
